Devices we get asked about
Most weeks, someone asks us about a device they’ve come across: a light therapy helmet, a PEMF wearable, an EEG headband. The question underneath is almost always the same one. Is this worth my money, or is it noise?
We don’t stock or sell devices in the office. What we can help with is a narrower and more useful question: whether a particular tool has anything to do with what’s actually driving your symptoms. Those are two different questions, and the second one is the one that matters for you.
David keeps a running list on his blog, The Brain and Body, of the devices we hear about most, including what each one does, what it costs, which ones he’s used himself, and which he’s still evaluating. It’s a reasonable place to get your bearings before you spend anything.
See the list at The Brain and BodyAbout the money: The Brain and Body is David’s blog. If you buy a device through a link there, he earns a commission. That’s how the blog pays for itself. It doesn’t change what we’ll tell you here: if a device isn’t a fit for your situation, we’ll say so, link or no link. Bring anything you’re considering to your appointment.
